Not sure who I'm writing this to, but since my OtherBlog is having technical issues, I thought I'd return to this one.
It's been almost eight months since my last post here. During that time, a lot has changed. I finally sold the damned condo in Anchorage, packed up my car and drove across the continent, back to the Ancestral Home in South Carolina.
Yes, I have become a cliche. One of those horrible adult children who chucks it all then runs home to mother to get their head together.
On the upside, I'm still chugging away on the book. I'm 175 pages in and can actually see the fucking finish line. As a sanity saver, I take breaks from the book to write short fiction. I've got one on sale at the Kindle Store on Amazon.com. It's called, "The Finishers," a short story about zombies and the professionals who shoot them in the head, and it's only $0.99. So, if you're in the U.S., go over and buy a copy. If you like it, write a review. If you didn't like it, write a review. Just, y'know, let me know what you think.
Speaking of Kindles, I broke down and bought one a few weeks back and I already have over 21 books on it. In my defense, the bulk of the titles were free. The rest were like $0.99 except for maybe two. It's an interesting way to read, even though it makes me feel like I've wandered into an episode of Star Trek every time I power the damn thing up.
In other news, I'm heading up to Virginia tomorrow. A friend of mine passed away earlier this week and I'm driving up for the memorial service on Saturday. Then, I'm probably going to hang around until Monday morning, just to do the nostalgia thing.
And that's pretty much where I'm at.
Maybe if you're all good and go buy my short story, I'll reward you with another post before six months passes. Heh.
Yeah, that passes for a joke from me nowadays.
